Garage Floor Coating
Garage Floor Coating in Houma, LA That Actually Lasts
Most homeowners in Houma have the same problem with their garage floor. It is either bare concrete that absorbs every oil drip and stain, or it has an old coating that started peeling after two summers. Neither one is acceptable when you know what a properly installed system looks like.
Turner Custom Coatings installs full flake garage floor systems built for South Louisiana’s heat, humidity, and moisture-heavy slabs. The result is a floor that is cleaner to maintain, better looking, and protected for the long haul.
What Goes Into Our Garage Floor System
- We start with diamond grinding every square inch of your slab using commercial-grade equipment. This is not optional. Surface preparation determines whether your floor lasts five years or twenty-five. We grind, we vacuum, and we repair every crack and pit before a single drop of coating hits the concrete.
- Our base coat is an epoxy moisture vapor barrier, not a standard primer. Louisiana slabs have moisture issues that most coating systems do not address. The MVB base coat penetrates the slab and blocks the hydrostatic pressure that causes coatings to bubble, blister, and delaminate. We use this on every job. Most competitors skip it.
- On top of the base coat, we broadcast decorative vinyl flakes to full rejection across the wet surface. You choose the color blend. Once the base coat cures, we scrape the excess flake back to a tight, uniform profile. Then we apply an industrial-grade polyaspartic top coat that is UV-stable, chemical-resistant, and slip-resistant. That is the system. Seven steps. Zero shortcuts.
Why This System Works in South Louisiana
- The combination of high humidity and temperature swings down here is hard on coatings that are not designed for it. UV-unstable top coats yellow and chalk. Standard epoxy primers fail against moisture vapor. And anything applied over an improperly prepped slab will delaminate.
- Our system accounts for all of it. The polyaspartic finish holds its color and clarity even under direct sun and Louisiana summers. The MVB base coat handles moisture from below. And the diamond-ground profile gives the system a mechanical bond that does not let go.
What a Quality Installation Looks Like
- A finished garage floor should look completely uniform from wall to wall. No visible lines where sections were applied. No roller marks in the top coat. No thin or patchy areas where the flake coverage drops off. The coating should not bleed onto your walls or baseboards. Clean edges, consistent coverage, and a floor that looks like it was done right, because it was.
- That level of detail is the standard we hold ourselves to on every garage floor we install in Houma and across the Tri-Parish area.
